Love Songs for Romance
By: Jenn Malko
Most relationships have love songs that you’ve come to associate
with them. Those songs are great to play, but eventually you’ll
crave for something a little different yet entirely about setting the mood for
love. Enter CupidsReview’s selection of love song albums. Each has a slightly
different flavor, to hopefully appeal to all tastes. Music and lyrics are subjective,
after all, and we’re all about ensuring you have something on your plate
that you’ll enjoy. Take a look at the songs in these albums that we think
will help romance find its way into your next big night of love.
Love Songs -- A Compilation: A little Phil by the firelight can only
do wonders for your collection of love songs. Collins brings old and new together
for this two-disk album. The 25-song list includes tunes such as Groovy Kind
of Love, This Must Be Love, I’ve Been Trying, Two Hearts, Do You Remember
and Against All Odds. Who couldn’t fall in love with these pieces playing
in the background?
Windham Hill Chill Vol 2: This compellation consists of two albums –
one ambient and one acoustic. This is not your typical album that you might
find spinning in the early morning hours in the chillout room of some party.
It’s more refined. You’ll finds artists like Yanni alongside Tangerine
Dream. You’ll hopefully also find love – somewhere near the later
tracks of one of these two terrific disks.
Love Actually: This soundtrack features songs from the 2003 movie. For
those that haven’t seen it, Love Actually is a romantic comedy that follows
the lives of a group of London couples. The score contains such hits as Songbird,
sung by Eva Cassidy, Here With Me, by Dido, All I Want for Christmas is You,
by Olivia Olson and Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Now. Bring a little movie
magic home for your next romantic holiday with this collection!
The Look of Love: Diana Krall belts it out in the album about our favorite
topic – love! Her sultry song list consists of titles such as Love Letters,
I Remember You, Besame Mucho and The Look of Love. Jazz up your next romantic
night with the sultry sounds of Krall!
Enigma – Love Sensuality Devotion: We wouldn’t recommend swallowing
LSD by Enigma, but listening to it is bound to set the proper mood. Enigma has
long produced electronic tunes to chill and romance with. A full 18 songs are
packed into this offering with titles such as Return to Innocence, Principals
of Lust, Sadness, Smell of Desire and Cross of Changes. Change up your usual
romantic selection with a little LSD by Enigma.
Dangerously in Love: The ever-beautiful Beyonce breaks down the sound barriers with her take on love songs. This former member of Destiny’s Child has compiled a number of songs with a particular mood in mind. Catch her as she sings Crazy in Love, Be With You, Signs and The Closer I Get to You. Urban groove that sets the night on fire never sounded so good. Kick your romance off today and become dangerously in love!
The 50 Greatest Love Songs: This album contains the 50 greatest love
songs as sung by the King, prior to his death, of course. Elvis fans need no
introduction to songs such as It’s Now or Never, Always on My Mind, Wonder
of You, You’ve Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ and Can’t Help
Falling in Love. Sing it with the King or practice the art of silence with someone
special with this album!
Obviously, there are a number of other albums that could have made this love
song list. Let us know if you have one by leaving a comment below!
