Mastering Your Chi
By: Jenn Malko
Chi
is the Chinese word that refers to the life force or energy that we all possess.
It also deals with balance – the opposing positive and negative
aspects that are at work inside us. Chi is important to dating in many ways. The
sooner you understand it and master it, the better and more successful you’re
dating will be.
We have all met people who seem to glow from the inside. A friend once referred to it as a person’s ability to shine. I always liked the reference and have used it many times over the years. This is Chi at work. We all know that a person's mind begins to categorize and assess another person within moments of meeting them. This is a crucial time if you’re meeting someone new who you’ve only chatted with over the phone or online. You want your energy – your chi -- to be in full effect. You want people to look into your eyes and see your personality beaming back at them. You want people to read the expressions on your face and know that they’ve found someone interesting and worth spending time with. You can’t do this if you’re tired or hung over from the night before or stressed out about work. It’s worth the effort to schedule your dates at a time when you know you’ll be able to let your personal chi shine.
“Your Chi is vital to anything you do in or for love.”
Chi is also about balance. Anyone in a successful relationship knows how important it is. Dating is where that complicated balancing act begins. You’re trying to get to know the person sitting next to you and they’re trying to get to know you. This needs to go both ways for any successful relationship to grow. You may be talkative and they may be quiet and happy to pepper you with questions all evening long, but that doesn’t get you any closer to who they are. Pay attention to balance while on your dates and it will help sustain and fuel your personal energy.
Your Chi is vital to anything you do in or for love. You don’t have to
practice any special philosophies to understand how it works within you. What
you do need to do is be able to harness it. Successful dates occur when someone
is so attracted to your Chi that they can’t help but want a second date.
An even bigger accomplishment is landing a third date. If you wish to go this
far down the path, master your Chi. It's the best way to ensure you shine!
