Online Matchmaking Services
By: Jenn Malko
Finding the love of your life can be a lifelong process. Many
matchmaking services have popped up on the Internet that are designed to set you
up with your perfect mate. The results are generally guided by a number of answers
you provide to multiple-choice questions. Some matchmaking systems claim that
they’ve been built on strict, scientific principals that suggest better coupling
between personalities while others have less lofty goals. There are a number of matchmaking sites available and we’ve
rated and ranked them in our matchmaking
reviews section. Here’s a brief look at some of the more popular
ones.
LoveMatch.com hit it big under our review criteria and blew the competition away. This is surprising considering the field of solid competitors. What this matchmaking service lacks in popularity it more than makes up for in features. Not only does it have one of the lowest monthly fees we’ve seen, but it has tons of additional features to keep you busy as part of the online community. It has a sleek user interface and a lineup of profiles that ring true compared to some of the other dating sites on the market where you’re unsure if the model-quality pictures actually have real people behind them. As far as what it has to offer, this matchmaking service takes top marks.
DateMatch.com is another matchmaking site that did very well under our review criteria. Like LoveMatch, DateMatch has a smaller community site than other major players. Most impressive on this site is the many features available to members. You will see that this site focuses on matchmaking for dating as opposed to sex so if you’re strictly after carnal pleasures, perhaps this isn’t the site for you. One thing to note here is the lack of free access. DateMatch only scored a 5/10 for what users can do without paying. We don’t blame them for asking for payment for their valuable services, but we do take marks away when other services are offering a better tour for free.
"There are a lot of quality sites on the Internet that can help you find that match made in heaven."
The most popular matchmaking service on the Internet is Match.com. Obviously this site sits on a huge domain for the dating market, which can be essential when trying to build a brand. All you need is one perfect match in your area to make it all worthwhile, but having many options to choose from helps. Match.com’s volume of traffic is certainly this sites biggest draw. You can take a tour for free and get yourself set-up easy enough, but making connections without paying the piper is difficult with ths sites lack of free access. Check our review on this matchmaking service to see what else it has in store.
Dr. Pepper Schwartz is the personality behind the science at PerfectMatch.com. Our reviewer had an interesting view of the questions that this site asks to determine your perfect match. You should read the review to find out a little more. Again, like most of the sites in this category, free access is limited. Make sure to look around to see if your area is well represented before forking over the dollars for the services of this matchmaking site.
One of the most popular sites for matchmaking these days is eHarmony.com. If you thought online dating was going to be easy, one look at the matchmaking questionnaire on this site and you’re bound to come away with a different opinion. Dr. Neil Warren developed this system that is supposed to provide high-tech matches made in heaven. This site works differently compared to others, only coughing out a match or two a month. This may be more your speed, but our criteria says that this site has a long way to go when it comes to competing with other matchmaking services.
There are a lot of quality sites on the Internet that can help you find that
match made in heaven. Take a look at our reviews and tour some of the sites
that sound interesting. Sooner than later you’ll find a matchmaking
service that suits your dating needs!
