Storms & Rainy Days are Ideal for Romance!
By: Jenn Malko
There
is something about stormy weather and rain pelting around you that adds extra
romance to what would otherwise be a glum day. Yet despite the fact that
you’re literally under the weather, it doesn’t mean that it should
put a damper on love! Storms are passionate and set a great mood that you just
don’t get as often as you might like. When the chance arrives, jump on board
and enjoy it in any way you see fit. Here are a few ideas to get you rolling for
romance when there’s a storm in the skies!
Curling up on the porch while the rain comes down around you is a great idea. Grab your love and head straight for the best seat in the house, but make sure to do it in style with a blanket and comfy pillows and you’ll enjoy the storm that much more!
Bad weather is what movies were made for. If you’re already seen enough of the storm, stay inside, crank up the air conditioning (which will help set the mood for magic under the blankets) and throw in a new release.
Singing in the rain isn’t as fun without dancing! Take your love out into it and as the rain comes down and drenches you both, dance away to the imaginary sounds of your favorite song. Make sure to lead unless you want to end up dancing to the imaginary sounds of your partner’s favorite tune!
If you know a storm is on its way, pitch a tent out back and experience it up close and personal. Having the sound of nature’s wrath all around you is a wonderful experience. You can either take in the view out the front or close the flap for more intimate enjoyment!
Find a place with a great vantage point. You can often watch as storms sweep in if you have a great spot to look from. Try getting as geographically high as you can – someplace with a great view of your surroundings. Romance is about setting the scene and this is one you’ll do better with if you can find that perfect spot.
Take a drive and listen to the storm as it surrounds your car, the rain bouncing off the roof and the wind howling past your windows. You can even play some of your favorite tracks or listen to the radio at the same time without spoiling the effect. And if you find a great spot, feel free to park and . . . well, I think you can fill in the blanks!
There are plenty of ideas and things to do when there’s rough
weather about. Use a little creativity and you’re bound to create
some memories that will add to the power and beauty of your romance!
