Writing a Love Letter

love-letter-writingYour online dating efforts are bound to lead you into a great relationship with someone you care deeply about. And at some point, you’re going to want to tell this special person how you feel about them by writing them a love letter. Take a deep breath and relax. Yes, this could be a pivotal point in your relationship and this may not be the easiest thing you’ve ever done, but following what we’re about to lay out for you will ensure your love letter is written to perfection.

Always start a love letter by listing on a separate page the main points you want to get across. Do you want to compliment his or her beauty? You might want to write a few things down that struck you, like the time the sun was dropping over the horizon and you could see the sparkle of your life together in his eyes or the way her hair falls across her face when she lies chatting with you in the early hours of the morning. Mentioning her breasts or his package is for a totally different type of letter that we won’t touch on here! Do you want to compliment your love on their compassion, intelligence, humor, kindness, honesty, passion, drive, skills or just the way they look at you when you are alone? Whatever you want to say, try to think of an instance where that attribute really stands out and describe it through your eyes. Writing a list will help give you form and structure and the added descriptions will bring depth to your list of points and help breath life into your love letter that a note of this nature requires.

"Take a little time to consider the small details...."

Whatever you say should come from the heart. If you’re reading this, it’s safe to say that you want to say something special, otherwise you should head down to the corner store and pick up a canned version, otherwise known as a card. You don’t need to be as eloquent as the pros. All you need to do is have something sincere you want to convey. Speak from the heart and you can’t go wrong.

Write your love letter in draft form first so that you can ensure it’s flawless. A practice run is always needed when you’re creating something this important. Read it over and make sure it flows in a logical manner. You should always have a dictionary on hand to spell check your words. You want to make sure that he or she will know that you put time into this letter and spelling mistakes say that you really don’t care enough to do a good job.

When you’ve finished writing your love letter, you’ll want to add the finishing touches. Buy a blank card with space on the inside to write your letter or make something up from scratch if you possess the talent. Writing it in your own handwriting is important. It helps to convey the personal nature of what you’ve written, even if it makes it infinitely harder for your love to read it! You may want to consider how it’s delivered. Do you want to send it through the mail or have it delivered attached to a beautiful arrangement of flowers? Do you want to hand it to them when they come from work or should it be under their pillow when they get in bed at night? Take a little time to consider the small details and you’ll have that extra little bit of impact you’ll need to ensure you achieve the desired effect.

Writing a love letter isn’t supposed to be easy. It will take time, thought and energy. But the end result will be that your true thoughts and emotions are conveyed and the person you are writing to will know how important you are to them. When it comes to love, you can’t ask for anything more!
