What's On Your Walls?

What's on your walls?Could what a person puts on their walls turn you off completely? Obviously, the more money you have, the easier it is to find things to make your place look pretty. You move from your college days with posters on your walls to pictures that actually have frames, although they may not be able to be removed from them! Eventually you graduate again to pictures with frames that can be removed and maybe even glass fronts to protect the works as they increase in value.

Writing Romance

Writing RomanceI’ve always wanted to write a romantic love story. Not the harlequin romance type – something a little more fantasy oriented. Romance as a genre doesn’t interest me. It’s not the type of world I like to wrap around myself when I’m looking to escape. It’s not fantastical enough. When I have free time, and I need to escape, I like to crawl into other worlds or write some for myself. In each one, though, romance is always one of the draws for me.

Who would you date?

Who to dateIf you could date one famous person on the planet, who would you choose?

Talk a bout a hard question! Someone asked me this today and it took me a while. Immediately my mind goes to actors, since there are so many of them. The first person that popped into my head was Angelina Jolie simply because of her infamous status. However, I doubt that we’d get along. I think we’re a little too different. I don’t know about her and that thing with Billy Bob – that was just weird! And the kissing of the cousin at the Oscars . . . way too strange!

Circles Around Cuba

A Night OutLast night was fun! I joined up with the speed dating crew and watched as 46
men/women did circles around this little Cuban bar downtown.
It’s funny to see everyone who arrives sitting around looking a little awkward. Yet a couple minutes into it, everyone is chatting up a storm. I think I need to do another round of speed dating really soon!

For the Speed of Dating

Speed DatingTonight I’m off to a speed-dating event. Actually, I’m not “dating” – just going to chat with the owner about some business. I’ve been to a number of her events here in Toronto. She puts on a good production but boy is it work!

Bra and Thong

Bra and ThongA girl who had webcam pictures of herself in a bra in her profile and another shot where she was showing her thong hit me up the other day. She even went as far as to point it out in a caption under the shot – just so nobody could miss it. Her online name was PlayboyBunny. Cute, right? I thought so at least. I

Virtual Sex

Virtual Sex from HighJoyI recently reviewed the dating site, HighJoy.com. Its sole purpose is to act as a way for people to have virtual intercourse. Essentially you buy an appropriate personal pleasure device, hook it up to your computer and someone else controls it remotely from their computer. Like any good investigative journalist, I graciously accepted delivery of both versions of the two High Joy – Doc Johnson products.

A Big Squeeze

A Good HugPart of the problem I have with long distance dating is that in those hours of need – the ones that really matter – you can’t be close with the one that means the most. Sometimes all you really needs is a hug or a shoulder to cry on. Knowing that all you need is something so small can make the distance even worse to deal with. I know there are lots of ways that people can make the connection without being there in person.

Don't Fall Down

Don't Fall Down!Last night I ventured out for an evening to celebrate a friend's birthday. We hit a club I hadn't been to in years - but it was a regular haunt back in the day. The place filled slowly but the drinks came quick. The crowd was hopping as the beats broke in and everyone seemed to have a smile from ear to ear - or at least that's what I told myself.

Chances on Love

Taking a ChanceA while ago, one of our visitors left a message on this blog. It was under an article that dealt with the sending of love letters to those who matter most to you. The reader wrote the following comment:

“I wrote a love letter once. Was a big mistake though, cuz it was destined to a girl I didn't even know. So I wrote her this love letter. One morning, on the bus I finally worked up the courage to give it to her.

Online Dating School

Online Dating SchoolI think it’s about time that Cupid’s put something a little more organized into place as far as information for people looking to try online dating. Cupid’s is supposed to be a site where singles can come for honest advice and information about the options that are available to them. It seems only natural that whatever we put together should have structure.

The Morning After

The Morning AfterI love the morning after you spend your first night with someone new. You roll around, trying to get your bearings – trying to kiss without letting morning breath escape, trying to find your left sock that has somehow managed to get pushed down to the very end of the bed. You plan out a shower schedule and make breakfast that you can eat together and sit chatting about the long night before. That’s a great feeling!

The Perfect Profile?

Dating Profile PerfectionHow much stock do you put into the way someone has worded his or her profile? I ask this question a lot because I find myself getting a lot of people contacting me without pictures in their profiles. A large number of them expect me to be interested in them without seeing a picture. It’s the “if you’re interested in what I’ve written, you should like me” argument. Personally, I read and am really into what people have written.

Who Is Ms Right?

Miss RightIs she the
one who laughs at my stupid jokes?

Does she share my taste in movies?

Can she accept that I still open doors for her 20 years after we’ve been
together?

Will she watch TV shows that I love for that reason alone?

Can she turn my frown upside down when I’m sad?

Too Many Dates

Too Many DatesI am 29 years old, single and belong to five Internet dating sites. My experience has been that I go through long periods where I have no decent prospects on the go and don’t date at all. Then suddenly a bunch of possible matches pop up and my social calendar is full. The problem is that full just isn’t a good thing for a guy with time management issues.

Single Parent Shuffle

Single Parent ShuffleI might just be out of touch with the reality of our times but there certainly seems to be a lot of single mothers on dating sites. I’d say at least half of the women that have contacted me have dependents and I’m sure women must face the same thing, although probably to a slightly lesser extent. But man or women, they are all in the midst of the single parent shuffle.

Remove My Profile?

Removing the ProfileWhat? Are you nuts? You want me to take my profile off of the dating sites I belong to? That sounds crazy! It might sound crazy, but at some point we’re
all going to have to go through this. Being single isn’t a lifestyle to most. It’s a transitional period between the better moments in life – those that are shared with someone else. So what’s going to happen when you – the eligible dater – comes face-to-face with someone who wants to take a relationship to the next step?

Grand Gestures

Grand Gestures!I have a girlfriend who has a birthday coming up. Her name is Roxy and she rocks! She started seeing this new girl, Kell, and they’ve been going out for a couple of months. Kell really doesn’t know all of Roxy’s friends. She just knows a few of us. Anyway, like a good girlfriend, she’s planning a surprise party and is trying to rope everyone in.

I LOVE GRAND GESTURES!

A Happy Life?

A Happy Life!Have you ever really thought about what it is that would make you happy in life? I have but I’ve never come up with much. I’ve always had a problem with the decision making process. This involves everything from what shirt to wear on any given day to how to balance my bank account. Both are extremely important, of course, and a mistake with either one could throw my life into a tailspin! Seeing as this is how I approach everything, you can understand that a question such as what would make me happy in life would wreck havoc on my psyche. Still, it’s a question that we all need to answer.
