Beautiful Single Greeks

Beautiful Single GreeksI’ve never dated a Greek girl. This never became important to me until I rated Eligible Greeks, a dating site that focuses on serving the people and culture. Part of what I do when rating dating sites is conduct searches of members and wow, there are a lot of beautiful single Greeks! I tend to be attracted to European women – those with strong features and dark hair – but for some reason, it never occurred to me until now to actually look for a specific culture!

Missing You

Missing YouIt’s been a long time since I’ve had someone in my life to miss. This hasn’t been a bad thing. On the contrary, it’s been by choice. The last thing I need is to get into a relationship with the wrong person. I just don’t do well with breakups. I’d rather sit home on a Friday night then spend it with someone who just doesn’t fit the bill. It wasn’t always this way. I used to spend every free moment in the bars and clubs, looking to find Ms. Right.

VOIP Over Distances

VOIPBad things happen to relationships and experiencing physical distance is certainly one of them. I had a relationship that started when I was working on the other side of the country. I knew I was coming back home in a certain amount of time and that relationship was going to be put under stress. It certainly wasn’t easy, but we knew there was an end in site that made the time apart bearable.

Match.com Gets Sued

Evans Sues MatchOnline business has no face. This makes I difficult to seek vengeance on people and companies that bend you over and take what they want from you and give you little in return. It turns out that a group of people have decided that’s exactly what was happening to them and they’ve decided to do something about it. A class action lawsuit filed by attorneys on behalf of Matthew Evans in Los Angeles claims that Match.com employees are paid to go on dates with subscribers, send bogus emails and winks to stop people from canceling when their membership is coming up and allow them to read emails so that the employees can adjust their approach to the customer to assure the most success.

A Broken Computer / Life?

Broken LaptopI used to enjoy watching TV on a Saturday afternoon or going out and playing with friends in my subdivision. That time was many moons ago. Now I’m a different person. I’m a man. Now I love dating. I love computers. But sometimes computers can get in the way of dating, and vice versa, and the results can at times be tragic.

Movie Dating Site!

Movie Dating SiteMovie love. I think that should be a movie dating site niche. So many people love movies and it’s such a great thing to do with a date. Having a movie-lovers dating site would be a natural. You could have discussion forums for the latest movies, give away passes to members and have a place where you can tag your favorite movie quote – which of course would be hyper linked to anyone else using the same quote!

Goth Model Match

Gothic Model MatchI recently reviewed a great little Gothic dating site called Gothic Match. There are a number of dating companies these days that are attempting to fan out across numerous niches. The more sites they have, the more money they make. GothicMatch is one of the offerings from the SuccessfulMatch affiliate company.

Desperate Dating Sites

Desperate Dating SituationsI really hate when people take advantage of others in desperate situations. It’s the lowest of the low. And I REALLY hate it when people do it in the arena of love. Love is a need, after all, and it’s terrible to be crushed needlessly during the journey. Take, for example, the recent story of two women who signed up for a site called LunchDates.com. It’s not an online dating site but rather a local meet-and-greet company.

The Piano Playing Banker

The Banking PianistI’ve got a friend who was on American Singles for a while. She was telling me this story of this guy she met about a month ago who was this big investment banker in New York. He was quite a talented bloke – painted and wrote poetry in his spare time and played the piano pretty well. She went out a few times with him. They did the traditional stuff – went to a coffee shop, then to an exhibit at a gallery and then out for dinner another night.

A Near Miss - Body Worlds 2

Body Worlds 2 DateI nearly made what could have been a huge mistake this past weekend. I was planning a first date with this girl I met online. From my experience, a museum or an exhibit is the perfect place for a first date. You get the chance to chat and walk and have a bunch of things around you that you wouldn’t normally be able to see. Well, it just so happens that there is this great exhibit that’s getting tons of press down at the Science Center called Body Worlds 2.

Deaf Disability Dating

Deaf SinglesI recently reviewed Deafs, a dating site targeting people with hearing loss. The site appeared like any other dating site. There were no specific questions that required you to state what degree of hearing loss you suffered from. This is in sharp contrast to STD dating sites like Positive Love, which asks users a number of specific questions as to what they suffer from. Hearing loss obviously doesn’t have the same impact on relationships that STD’s do.

All Kinds of People

Kinds of PeopleIf you’re going to be dating online, you’d better be prepared to meet all kinds of people. It’s a social activity, after all, and getting out and connecting with people you wouldn’t normally meet is how it’s done. I went out on a date about a month ago with a girl I met at a speed dating event. She is awesome: bright, charming and attractive – a perfect 10 in most books. The strange thing for me was that she was an active Christian who was dating on Christian Café and helping run speed dating events.

Language Barriers

Language Barriers and DatingHave you ever dated someone from a different country – someone who doesn’t speak the same language as you or doesn’t speak it nearly as well? I dated a number of girls from different countries when I was younger. They were all very nice and the accents and mystery around them made them quite compelling. It was always good for a while. We managed to chat despite all the difficulties in communication and shared laughs and love – but at some point things changed.
