The Tom Kat Breakup
I was in the grocery store the other day, buying food for a feast with a friend, when I came across a paper claiming that Tom Cruise and Katie Homes had broken up. My heart leapt for a second. You see, Dawson’s Creek had a lasting impression on me. By 1998, I had graduated high school and the Beverly Hills 90210 days were long behind me. I was left searching for a young-love drama series that suited my place and time. That’s when Dawson’s Creek came on the air and I fell for the feisty Joey Potter.

The Best Advice to Never Take
I tried therapy once and found myself thinking in the third person detached from feeling while rationally seeking truth by not reacting emotionally. The universe slowly began to revolve around the person inside my head rather than the human I really was outside my heart. Maybe I just had a bad therapist.

Free Photo Editing Online
One thing that I think more online dating sites should offer is free photo editing, or rather, free photo counseling. It’s said that pictures make a profile. If you show up online with blurry, tiny or otherwise unfavorable shot, you’re really not giving your profile a fair go. We do free photo editing here at Cupids and some of the pics that are submitted are… well, they need some guidance, is all. There was a recent submission from a an Australian man in his 50’s in the middle of a field of sheep wearing leather pants.

Better Going Solo?
The French term for bachelor is "vieux garcon" translating literally to "old boy." It seems to imply single men becomes childish in old age with no one to please but themselves. I keep hoping someone special will save me from such a fate soon.
However, Dawn Yanek, in an article on MSN, has listed 10 reasons why it's better to stay single. In the original article, she lists scientific studies to support her points but as a counter-bitterness exercise I list why I disagree with her in most cases proving I'm not a vieux garcon yet.

Free Dating Services
Free dating services abound on the Net. All I have to do is look at my inbox to see all the requests to review dating sites and I know this to be true. Everyone wants something for nothing if they can get it. Heck, I certainly don’t blame them. I’m always looking for something for nothing or, at the very least, something for as little as possible. That’s why when it comes to dating, I prefer the pay-per-use model over the monthly membership fees.

When it comes to the technology utilized by dating sites, one of the worst ideas I’ve seen are the blind-calling services. You’ve probably seen them. You sign up for a dating site and find someone you’d like to chat with. Instead of having to give out your phone number, you can use this service to connect by phone anonymously.

Moving In With The Girlfriend
I don’t know that there’s a bigger step than you can take in a relationship than moving in with a girlfriend. Well, scratch that. Pregnancy is the biggest. And now that I think of it, buying a house with a girlfriend comes a close second. That’s what a buddy of mine is doing.
