When the Moon Hits your Eye

Pickup TipsA while ago, I signed up for a newsletter from some dude giving tips on picking up women. He selling a series of DVDs by giving a brief hint of his inside advice before providing testimonials from guys with apparently changed lives. Without giving away any of his valuable tips, to summarize his philosophy, to "score the ladies" it's best to be a jerk.

Tales of Drunk Dialing

Dialing DrunkWe’ve all done it. We have all felt the repercussions, as well. One minute you’re enjoying a nice beverage, or seven, the next you’ve picked up your cell phone and find yourself calling someone who means a great deal to you. You didn’t stop to think what time it was or if it may or may not be an appropriate moment to ring. It probably didn’t even cross your mind that your speech was slightly slurred or that your mind wasn’t reacting as lightning-fast as usual. All that mattered was that you felt the need to communicate and that moment was the time to start drunk-dialing!

Imagining The Perfect Wedding

A Perfect WeddingHave you ever spent time imaging what your wedding day would be like? I did when I was younger. I never wanted a traditional wedding. I’ve grown up in a largely Roman Catholic area and everyone’s wedding is basically the same as the next. There is usually a church involved. The bride’s side sits on the left while the groom’s nests on the right. There are ushers and bridesmaids and ring bearers and typically some old guy in a gown holding court for an hour. I have to say, this has never been the way I’ve imagined telling the world that I will love someone for the rest of my life.

Smoke Signals or Smokescreen?

I Can't Read the Signs!A colleague at work bet me $100 that I couldn't last a month without smoking more than two cigarettes. It's tough but maybe not as difficult as I expected. Since it's suddenly become quite cold, I'm more than happy not to go outside for a smoke these days. I'm still waiting for the floodgates of new dates to open with my smoke-freeness.

A Short and Sad Love Story

A Short and Sad AffairIt looked to be like any other Internet connection. A smile arrived in my inbox. We exchanged a few semi-witty emails. We rolled over to chat on instant messenger. We even had a couple of phone conversations. It was our time spent on the phone, talking about family life, past dating experiences and strange objects found in our fridge that really changed things for me, though. It was there that the real romance began…

Feeling the Love: One Path of Life

That Loving FeelingI’ve been single for about five years now and I still haven’t found true love, but I have been dating as regularly as any one man should. What I have found is that I may only have one date a year where there’s even a tingle of something special. It’s this feeling that I chase after, day after day, on online dating sites. It’s that feeling that I think everyone should be chasing after if they really expect to find true love.

My General Dating Apathy

General Dating ApathyYesterday I was out and about on the town, running errands and hitting a much needed appointment. I came out of a local house wares shop and was heading towards my car when I saw a tall brunette heading in the same general direction as I was. I looked up and recognized her from a great distance. She looked up and seemed to recognize me. We’d bumped into each other in a club on New Years and we’d partied together for a lot of the evening. Yesterday, however, we did what most singles seem to be doing these days. We bowed our heads and continued on our way…

Online Dating - Wise Choice for Me

A Nose By Any Other NameYou might assume since I'm writing for a site about online dating that I have a definite positive bias towards the internet thing. However, I've always seen it as just one of many ways to meet someone, no better, no worse than the rest.

Sex on the Slopes

Sex on the SlopesYesterday I saw my first flakes of snow. Feeling the urge, I ran out to the Toronto ski show and bought myself a snowboard. Somehow methinks this means I’ll be spending a great deal of time on the slopes this year. The question remains: who will you and I be spending that time with?

A Nose By Any Other Name

A Nose By Any Other NameI probably seem someone with few boundaries when it comes to revealing myriad details of my personal life, dear readers. However, I do have limits as to what I will share. Granted those walls around my private life may be slightly lower than most, allowing the occasional peek inside at my seemingly insecure interior.

Picking A Love Machine

Cupids Love MachineIt sounds like something out of a sci-fi movie of old. Well, that love machine is finally here, but will you take a spin on it?

Finding Quality Internet Dating Sites

Quality Internet Dating SitesIt’s not easy finding romance, even with all of the matchmaking services you find online today. I hear it from one single after another: how come I’ve been online for so long and I’m still searching? Some people point to the portals themselves saying dating sites don’t work. Here, I have to disagree…

My Lake House

The Lake HouseKeanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock starred in The Lake House, which seems to be a mirror of my life. I think most single people can identify with the characters: two mid-life professionals who just haven’t found that connection – the one that lasts a lifetime. Welcome to my world…

We Don't Know Why Kisses Don't Lie

The Price of a Perfect Match

Perfect Match and PriceI was going through sites we reviewed on the weekend, looking to see what changes have been made to them since they were originally reviewed. One that I came across that really struck me was Perfect Match. In particular, it was the pricing that got me wondering.
