A Weekend Away
It’s funny when you get the chance to reconnect with people from your past. I have a gathering coming up of people that I knew in high school and I’m really looking forward to it. I knew some of them really well – others were on the periphery. Yet for a number of years we were all connected.
After high school, we all lost touch. Even the people I was closest to drifted away. Then a few years back, we hooked up again. Times have changed for us all. We all have jobs, new lives and new relationships – well, they have new relationships, at least! Yet for some reason, things are still magical in many ways. I guess I conditioned myself to feel certain feelings when I was around them and the effects still have power. I expect nothing but good times and plenty to drink and a chance to reconnect with that period in my life. It’s a week away and I’m counting the days!
