A Fit Man In The Making

Fit Guys Attract Fit Beauties!Charles Darwin wrote about the concept of 'survival of the fittest' and said that in order to survive, a species must learn to adapt to its environment. This couldn't be more true when it comes to dating and I'm not only talking about fitness dating but the whole dating world as well. As much as we want to find someone who shares our interests and is fun to be with, physical appearances still count and being a fit man means you'll have a better chance of making an impression with the ladies. That's why we always aim for picture profile perfection when we post photos on the web.

Although my weight is generally appropriate for my height, I'm not exactly a fit man myself and the only six-pack I have is the one sitting in the fridge along with some left-over pizza. Being tied to my desk forty hours a week doesn't really help at all and the only regular exercise I get is when I use the stairs to my third floor apartment.

Like most of everyone else, I signed up for a gym membership to be a fit man, but a trip to the gym is something I dread and it ranks high on my list of things I'd rather not do along with having a root canal. I know that aside from making me look good and feel better about myself, working out and getting in shape is good for my health and reduces the risks of having many different diseases. It's just that whenever I'm running my ass off on the treadmill or straining to lift weights, I keep thinking about the things I'd rather be doing like sitting on the couch and watching TV or stuffing my face with burgers and fries.

It's embarrassing enough to be a flabby guy in a room full of fit men, but it's more humiliating having to share a shower with them. It's like high school all over again where you can't help compare your self to the more developed guys around you. It makes me wonder how could someone would enjoy working out when it's so physically draining and worse of all, you wake up in the morning with aching bones.

I could go on and on in my rant, but in the end, I know I'm just making up excuses. If I'm really serious about my resolve to be a fit man, then I have to suck it up and push myself to work harder. Like most things, the road to fitness is long and hard, but with the right motivation, goals are always attainable. Besides, there will always be a fit beauty in the gym, who is more than willing to give newbies like me a helping hand.
