Like I said, we met on a dating site and pretty much hit it off right away. She was a bit intrigued by the fact that I'm a writer and I have to say that I was as interested in her because of her profession. Now, you might not believe this, but this gal is a model. Can you believe that? I was thanking my lucky stars just for the chance to chat with this beautiful Arab chick, but I was as excited as I'd ever been when she asked me out. Yup, that's right, she asked me out.

Maybe that happens to other guys all the time, but for me it's a rare occurrence. I do love it when it happens though, because it's a serious boost to my ego. I was very nervous to meet this gal because I really wanted to make a good impression. A long time ago, someone taught me that to make a good impression with anyone you should not talk about yourself. Instead, what you should do is ask questions about the other person. So, that's what I did.

It turns out that she's originally from Cairo. I, of course, was curious to know what Cairo dating was like. I guess it's a far cry from what it's like here, but I didn't want to pry too much. It was wonderful to see her in person, finally. As nervous as I was, I was able to loosen up quickly. I think it's because she was so natural, which made it very easy for me.

We spent a great weekend together, talking and getting to know each other. I'm very glad to have met her, and I guess we'll see where things go from here. Stay tuned to the love blog to find out what happens.
