A Near Miss - Body Worlds 2
I nearly made what could have been a huge mistake this past weekend. I was planning a first date with this girl I met online. From my experience, a museum or an exhibit is the perfect place for a first date. You get the chance to chat and walk and have a bunch of things around you that you wouldn’t normally be able to see. Well, it just so happens that there is this great exhibit that’s getting tons of press down at the Science Center called Body Worlds 2.
It’s basically an anatomy exhibit with all of these corpses in weird positions. I hear there’s one playing tennis and another that’s holding his skin in his hand. Anyway, this was the plan for Saturday’s date. . . HAD I LOST MY MIND?!?!?! What kind of a morbid image would that leave in the mind of my date? What if I couldn’t take it and ended up barfing in the toilet for most of the afternoon? Sheesh! Anyway, you’ll be happy to know that I didn’t take her there. Instead, we went to a nice little bar with a live band and danced the night away. I can’t recall the last time I had a date that went so well. We ended up spending the whole weekend together and I will be seeing her again this weekend, too. Something tells me, though, that I had a near miss with that science exhibit. Sometimes you try and stretch the limits for good dating ideas, but in the end, it’s the simpler suggestions that make the most sense.

Online dating was never something that appealed to me, even in the nadir of my singledom. I was always too scared of ending up on a date with a nutter who wasn't what they claimed to be!
