Afro Connections and Tokens
I don’t know about you, but I really like token-based dating sites. I think in a year, I may send signs of interest to ten people. If you take the average cost of a monthly membership, somewhere around $25, it works out to about $30 per contact. Now I understand I could be in the minority. I’m sure there are a lot of people getting more use out of their monthly memberships than I would. Still, for me, token-based systems are the way to go.
The first site I came across that had it was LavaLife. I think out of all the dating sites I’ve been on, that site has brought be the most romantic success. Recently, however, I came across AfroConnections. It brings the best of both worlds, offering you both tokens and monthly memberships. I think that could very well be the future of online dating. Consumers need more choice. Women, who generally don’t have to work as hard to get emails in their inbox, could perhaps be persuaded to take tokens that they can use selectively. Men, who seem to believe that they should hit on anything with a heartbeat, could then take the monthly membership. It’s a win-win scenario from where I sit. I wonder when, if it all, this revolution will take place?
