An Avenue for Love
This weekend I had the pleasure of actually getting out to a club to meet some old friends and do a little dancing. As can be expected, the conversation at some point turned to dating. Out of the group, their were a handful who were single. They were members on sites such as Yahoo, Date Canada and Lavalife.
There were also a few who were single but had yet to venture online for love. It never ceases to amaze me. Many single people I meet seem passionate about finding love, yet here they are, tech-savvy and tuned in to the Net, and they are still willfully avoiding one of the most common ways people meet. It was just over four years ago when I first stepped online. It was hard at the start. That much I know. I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know who I would meet. But as the weeks and months went on, I realized that all of my fear and worry was baseless. I met good people. I enjoyed new conversations and shared smiles with people I wouldn’t have met otherwise. It was just another avenue to take on the path to finding “the one.” Now, four years latter, I’m still searching for Ms. Right. Some people would say that it’s proof that online dating doesn’t work. I’d just say it’s proof that love isn’t easy, no matter how you choose to find it. And if it was easy, it probably wouldn’t be worth all the effort in the first place.

You also have a better selection. At a bar, you only have a limited selection. On the internet you will likely have thousands to choose from.
