An Affair to Remember
I was getting very close to passing this day without a suitable entry for the blog. Yet, in the nick of time, I was saved by none other than Jay Lenno. It turns out there’s some new greeting cards in town. Here’s a hint for ya: they would be in high demand on AshleyMadison.com.
These great greeting cards are for that special mistress or boy-toy in your life. Yes, these are for people having extramarital affairs. Wonder what they sound like? Here’s one for an office romance:
"I used to look forward to the weekends but since we met they now seem like an eternity."
Or this sincere statement:
"As we each celebrate with our families, I will be thinking of you."
I don’t know why, but I always feel sad when I think about affairs. I would like to think that there’s hope out there for the relationships you hear about in fairytales. Yep, corny, I know! But there is something about that all consuming passion – that unbreakable connection that could be mine – that keeps me looking for love when I otherwise would have hung up my hat.
This article on the greeting card lady who came up with the concept states that 60 to 80 percent of men have affairs and 40 to 65 percent of women do the nasty while in wedlock. Is it just me, or do those numbers not add up? I don’t know how to take it all in. What I do know is that I won’t sleep as well tonight knowing that one day my wife could be purchasing a card from this ladies collection!
