Anybody Want To Date My Shy Black Friend?
Are there any women out there who would be interested in dating my shy black friend? He's 6'2", a little on the bashful side, very generous and loves to share a good laugh with people. I've known him since my early college days and, after many gym class showers, I can safely say that certain stereotypes are based on fact.
So with a body and personality like that, it comes as a real surprise to most people to find out he's painfully single. He used to check out dating sites for black singles like himself, but the guy was always just way too timid to close the deal. He let me check his PMs on those sites and, to my surprise, many a sexy black girl was all but ready and rarin' to meet him for a nice, romantic dinner, if not straight to the bedroom.
Not the kind of guy who dates women strictly in order to have sex with them (after all, this is a shy black man we're talking about), I wasn't surprised to see he had turned those women down. But I was a little disappointed to see he turned down other women, as well. Some of them really connected with him on a personal level and clearly could have become close friends of his, if not significantly more. Meanwhile, if their profile pics were real, then they were definitely his type, too!
So why did he turn them away? Well, it seems my shy black buddy is a bit of a drama llama. He's not what some would call "emo" or anything like that, but everybody has some kind of baggage. His is that he's way too nervous about saying something stupid, or worse, making a move too early or when it's not called for. You know, because apparently women hate it when a really charming and really hot single guy wants to kiss them after taking them out for a lovely, romantic evening out on the town.
Right now I've convinced him to go on a date with a true ebony beauty that he met online. She's drop-dead gorgeous, went to the same university as he did and loves his favorite restaurant. So here's hoping they hit it off, because even shy black dudes deserve a loving relationship.
