Calling all Asian Singles!
The Pacific Rim is overflowing with singles these days. You can't throw a rock without hitting an eligible single, and the cities that look out on to the Pacific Ocean are hotspots for Asian singles. Cities like Portland and Seattle are no longer depressing logging towns devoid of possibilities- they've been electrified by the Asian dating scene (and by little tiny factors like gorgeous surroundings and an incredibly high standard of living). It's locales like these as well as burgeoning online presence that has made the Asian single scene such an exciting environment.
All of the ports around the Pacific share some similarities, the Asian presence being one of them. You could be in Sydney, or checking out the Tokyo dating scene, or meadering through Vancouver and when you wander down the right streets or into the right clubs it's like you're in the same city. That's not to say that anyone will ever mistake Hong Kong for Vancouver (or mix up the Vancouver dating environment for Seattle's single scene), but the expatriate and second generation Asian community is incredibly diverse throughout all of the Pacific coast. This also means that the singles scene is amazingly cosmopolitan and there's a wide range of dating opportunities in all of these places.
Not that you have to travel to the Pacific like it was dating Mecca - the dating services and personal sections can get the party started wherever you are (within reason - if you're looking for Asian dating opportunities in Juno Alaska you might be waiting a while). Quote unquote ethnic dating has been an option since the prehistoric era of print ads, long before the flood of niche dating websites. I've never understood the kind of criticisms that are normally directed at ethnic or niche dating sites; for me, they've always been an incredibly handy tool which just narrows the field. It can be quite difficult to find the right person with little or no criteria in mind, and ethnicity is just one small aspect of dating criteria.
Anyway, along with the barrage of Asian niche dating sites, there's usually a search function on most of the big general dating services (Lavalife et al) which can allow you to peruse the Asian singles in your neighborhood.
There's an overwhelming amount of dating opportunities for enterprising Asian singles, and this is a great time to get out there (wherever you are) and check out the possibilities. With a scene as exciting as this, there's a myriad of dating choices to make.
