Carmen and Dave Divorce!
There was something so morbidly romantic about Dave Navarro and Carmen Elecktra’s marriage. It wasn’t the usual mainstream love you see played out in front of the cameras, such as with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson or Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. Dave and Carmen were dark, edgy and dangerous. They seemed to be a perfect match. Both live high-profile lives, love hardcore parties and can handle their share of eroticism. Their MTV reality show, ‘Till Death Do Us Part,” was a watershed in that it showed that love wasn’t only for the pure – that weddings can be as much about style as about traditional beliefs. Heck, it’s what I want my wedding to be like, except I want elephants at mine – only because I think they’ll be less trouble than an army of monkeys. But all that seemed so full of hope and promise only years before has now shattered.
Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro have filed for divorce. They are calling it amicable, as all smart couples do – that is until the gloves come off over who gets to keep the family dog or the tricked our Rolls in the driveway. They were married back in 2004 but the life of a rock star and multi-talented actor must have its own unique forms of strain. Still, their marriage will go down as one of my favorite celebrity shows of all time. Well, that and the Nick and Jessica Variety Show, that is! ;)
