Dream Date
How much time have you spent imagining what your perfect partner would be like? Do you know how they would sound, look, feel and taste? I’ve spent a lot of time over the years thinking about those specific things. I spent a lot more time when I was younger. I remember sitting in the cupboard under the stairs when I was four, dreaming of various girls. I used to always imagine a team of cheerleaders was with me. It was a great fantasy to have at such a young age.
As I grew older, I dreamed a little less of my ultimate match. Then puberty hit and it seemed like anyone with a heartbeat could be Ms Right. It didn’t matter, though. At least I was thinking about Ms Right again! These days those thoughts are a little further from my head. I don’t sit up at nights thinking about that perfect person anymore. Instead I log onto X or Y dating site and flip through endless pages with mild interest. I’m sure she’ll come along – Ms Right. These days I have no idea what she might look like. Instead, I’m left to hop that it will have less to do with looks than with feelings. Barring that, I’m open to anyone in a cheerleader uniform, but those just don’t seem to be as prevalent as a dreamer like me might like.

I don't dream about Mr. Perfect, because perfect is an ideal. People are the reality.
And I'm dating lots of reality.
