Finding A Love Everlasting
Is it safe to say that the dream of everyone on the face of the planet is to find love everlasting? I mean, I hate to generalize, but I can’t think of any person or situation that would cause someone not to wish for that. Love seems to be the biggest reason for living our lives. I got thinking about this today as I was
watching The Notebook.
A friend’s mother had watched it and she had said it was the saddest movie she’d ever seen. I never got that impression from it. I found it inspiring, if anything. Then again, I’m a dreamer who believes that there are a handful of people out there that we fit with and that we owe it to ourselves to search them out. It almost seems like a crazy position to take in today’s world. Typical beliefs seem to lean towards finding someone who doesn’t drive you to drink and build a life with them—in large so you can split the cost of buying a home and meeting he needs of life. Oh, how romantic!
I want to find love everlasting.
I believe it’s out there. Some philosophers hold that if you think it, it will come. I keep thinking it. And I keep waiting.
The movie is about a couple who fall in love, get torn apart and then rekindle
that love later in life. It’s also about the struggle of that same couple
to hold onto that spark till the very end of their lives. That’s love
everlasting to me. That’s what I seek. Hopefully soon I’ll find
it. The question is, do you believe in it?

Well,
I think the trick is to find someone who is somewhat close to you but not same. You want someone who is different enough so you can have disagreements to make life more exciting. It is a balance thing. I really think opposites attrack. He or she shouldnt be too different so you argue about everything yet different enough you can share somethings together and disagree on others to keep the conversatin going. That is my perspective anyway.
