Finding Great Ideas For A Fun Date

Ideas For A Fun Date!

For a single guy like me, going on a lot of dates can tend to make a person more and more jaded about the whole process. It's also not too hard to run out of ideas for a fun date. There comes a point when going for drinks, or going out to a movie, or taking a girl to yet another restaurant starts to lose its shine. I've found that dating athletic singles always gives you a little more leeway when searching for ideas, but there are great ideas for everyone out there. Ideas for a fun date are like gold: Incredibly hard to find, but worth looking for.

When I was with my ex-wife we had a deal to go on a date once a week. It wasn't long before these date nights turned into ordeals that neither one of us were having any fun on. It even got to that point that we stopped doing the date night because it was more of an annoyance to both of us than anything else.

They say that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. Well, if that is the case, in the last year of my marriage I was certifiably insane. I'm not sure how I ever believed that yet another night out at the same old restaurant or another night of arguing about what movie we should see was going to ever be anything but a chore. It's too bad that I hadn't started thinking about ideas for a fun date back then. I really believe that if we'd both put some effort into that we could've saved our relationship. But, c'est la vie, non?

It wasn't until I was divorced and got back into the dating world that I realized I was going to have to be a little more creative. While I obviously haven't found the girl that I'm after yet, I've been on some fantastic first dates that I'll remember for a long time. I had no idea that simple things like ice skating or going for ice cream could be so much fun, or that spending a day at a flea market and then sitting under the stars with a bottle of champagne could mean so much joy, but the more I get creative, the more fun I have with my dates.

It doesn't take a great deal of imagination to come up with an idea for a fun date, but in the long run, you'll find it's entirely worth it.
