For Love, Money Or Blood

For Love, Money Or BloodThey say that money can't buy happiness, but I'm pretty sure they're wrong. It's not that I'm a materialist or a power junkie, but let's be honest... There are only two things that get in the way of doing all the things I would like to do: time and money. And as we know from the bankers who never get tired of repeating the phrase, time is money.

It's not that I equate money with happiness, it's just that I'm pretty sure money buys all those that things that would make you happy. Security, flexibility, time and the resources to do the things that you find fulfilling. What else is there? I think it was Steve Martin that said, "I believe that sex is the most beautiful, natural, and wholesome thing money can buy." Ok, now we're going too far. Seriously though, if you can't find a way to be happy with the world at your finger tips, it isn't the world's fault, it's yours.

In all fairness I have to admit that it's true that money can't fix everything. This story is a little old, but I just heard it the other day. Apparently back in 2001 Billy Bob Thornton was quoted in the New York Post as saying, "I had a nurse come...and draw some of my blood. I painted some pictures for Angie [Jolie] in my blood. We're not the types to give each other candy or a bunch of flowers." I suppose to some people, nothin' says lovin' like a satanic contract or the missing love-scene from the Exorcist. To me it just says that all the money and fame in the world can't make you any less insane.

Some people are a little nervous about online dating personals, but they’ve got to allow for better screening than the entertainment industry. Seriously, you've got to think twice before dating a celebrity. Although, for most of us, there isn't a huge danger of that happening anyway, thankfully dating the stranger sitting next to you on the bus will be a better option.
