For Want of a Dating School
The older I get, the more I realize how much wasn’t covered by my schooling. There were no personal economics courses to teach me how to manage money. I wasn’t taught how to interview for jobs or get what I want from customer service reps who mishandle my accounts. These would have been useful skills to have . Most of all, I wish there had of been someone who could have pulled me aside and said here’s a book that will teach you everything you need to know about dating!
I now know a thing or two about romance. In the area of online dating, I even know enough to develop an online dating school where neophytes can learn the ropes of the digital dating world. But it pains me to think of all the missteps I took to gaining this knowledge. I know that in high school, there was time devoted to relationships in physical education class. For those of you out there developing curriculum for young minds, having some high school jock trying to teach you about the intricacies of male / female relationships should probably be your last choice. Lucicly, there are other ways to learn, and learn I did!
How weird it when all these years later, they developed a brand new way to
date and communicate over “a series of tubes” called the Internet!
I had to learn the art of corresponding through digital letters and instant
messaging. It was a different world and once again, I was left without a teacher.
It’s a miracle I’ve survived! Anyway, I’m just happy I’ve
had a chance to give back to those who are following along in my digital footsteps,
trying to learn of the “tubes” one travels when dating online.
