Gay Dating on Pride Weekend
Do you have any idea what day it is? I know you’re all scratching your heads and wondering, or coming up with answers that although good, probably aren’t what I had in mind--unless you live in Toronto and happen to be gay. For the record, I’m as straight as the arrow soars, but this is my favorite party weekend of the year. There are two party days I don’t miss: New Years and Pride Parade Sunday.
Toronto gets packed for the celebrations and there’s such an influx of tourism. I’m sure many hookups have been facilitated by gay dating sites, such as Gay.com and Out Personals. Sunday is the big day. A whole whack of us head down to Church Street just after 3pm. The parade is done but a huge chunk of the core is blocked off, right in the heart of the Gay village. There are a number of different stages set up with every kind of act imaginable. We always hit one stage where they’re pumping the best electronic music from some of our finest local DJs. We party on the street for the rest of the night next to straight and gay folk, the stoned, the naked, the lost and bewildered. It’s so much fun and I can’t wait! It’s just too bad I don’t have a date to take. That’s the only thing that could make this fantastic weekend better…

One interesting detail about this parade. In UK Navy was allowed to wear uniform at gay parade, but army and air force banned.
So, Navy personnel were wearing their full uniform with pride as they marched in a rough squad formation, joining the 80 floats and 500,000 supporters during the colourful parade. The chiefs wanted to show that personnel, no matter what their sexuality, are treated equally.

That's a little weird to my mind. Though as I can see such parades took place in many cities and are really colorful and funny events for all the citizens and guests.
