All jokes aside, though, there's much more to having a military girlfriend than the limited contact. The chicks I've met online are all very honest, well-meaning individuals and talking to them was like a breath of fresh air. I've found many potential partners to have hardly a life worth chatting about. If I had to hear another one-hour rant about how the girl at the supermarket looked at her funny or have a date go on and on about the latest chick flick, I probably would have abandoned the whole charade a long time ago. After a week or so of sifting through personals on this one site, though, I came across a gorgeous brunette who not only has a killer body, but is also someone impossible to tire of.

Now, whether or not that's because I don't actually chat with her nearly as often as other women I've met online has yet to be seen. There are lots of things to be said for a cute military girl who is dedicated to what she does, has a strong personality and a sense of humor to boot. Her self-confidence is quite stunning, but it's not as if she's pushy or anything.

Perhaps the main reason there are so many military singles is the physical separation. When looking for a serious relationship, I know I won't be interested in anything that requires long distance. She comes back to the city for a one-week leave in a month and it will actually be the first time we meet. Sparks may fly or the whole affair could die very fast, but that's not really what worries me. My major concern is what if I fall for this cute military girl and we're stuck in a long-distance relationship?
