Imagining The Perfect Wedding

Bookmark This Page

A Perfect WeddingHave you ever spent time imaging what your wedding day would be like? I did when I was younger. I never wanted a traditional wedding. I’ve grown up in a largely Roman Catholic area and everyone’s wedding is basically the same as the next. There is usually a church involved. The bride’s side sits on the left while the groom’s nests on the right. There are ushers and bridesmaids and ring bearers and typically some old guy in a gown holding court for an hour. I have to say, this has never been the way I’ve imagined telling the world that I will love someone for the rest of my life.

My youngest memory, as I’ve written before, involved just me and that special woman in a field. This was a dream I had where my subconscious picked perfection. I may not have even been 10 years old at the time. On that occasion, there was an older, balding man in a gown, but nobody else. Through high school, I started imagining a wedding taking place inside a huge club, with lasers and smoke and a DJ busting tunes and raising the roof. There would be elephants and monkeys and popcorn and the place would be packed with peeps. This was my idea of a celebration at that point in my life and it seemed fitting for the time.

These days, my idea of the perfect wedding would be a mix of the two. I’d like it small, but nothing conventional. Love’s just too important to dress up with all sorts of extravagance. I have no idea if I’ll ever get married at this point, but if I do… I’m still holding out hope for monkeys! Lets hope whomever you settle down with, after finding them on a site through our dating site reviews, will share a common understanding of what you hold to be the idea of a perfect wedding!
