Just Because He Says He's A Gay Hottie Doesn't Mean He Is One
One of my closest gay friends broke up with his boyfriend last Saturday, so my girlfriend and I spent most of yesterday in his apartment trying to comfort him. I've had friends who have broken up with their partners who were easier to console than this one. It wasn't because they simply grew apart. It wasn't just that his ex cheated on him. It was because his ex only hooked up with him so he could get some of his money while he cheated behind his back. We all knew he was dating a gay hottie, but what we didn't know is that that hottie was actually straight and he used our friend for easy cash.
What happened was this guy introduced himself as someone who was into gay dating and who was interested in meeting my friend. They became close after a few weeks of dating and they eventually became a couple. What my friend didn't know was his boyfriend was in fact dating someone else. At first, he borrowed some cash because "his mom was sick and they couldn't afford to buy her medicine" when in reality, he was just blowing it all off drinking and buying gifts for his "other loved one." Then came his requests for expensive items such as a Versace shirt or a PSP. My friend was blinded by love at the time, so he just gave him what he wanted. It all ended when he caught him having sex...with a girl. My friend said he would be going to Los Angeles for the weekend, but he ended up coming back early and found them naked right in his own apartment. They broke off after that.
When it comes to gay dating, or any dating for that matter, trust is a powerful currency. It's really hard to find someone to love especially if you're in a world where dating can make you distrust the whole world. Sometimes a beautiful man will come along to steal your heart, but may really be interested in is your money. There are a lot of hot guys out there who think hooking up with someone will give them extra bucks or help them in getting rich, but there are also hot guys who don't have ulterior motives and are really into loving someone.
