Lips of An Angel
I was listening to that Hinder tune this morning--Lips of An Angel. It reminds me of the old G&R ballads that I grew up on, dancing circles in high school gyms at Much Music video road shows. Those days were filled with so much raw romance. The loves I had back then, although young and typically immature, had an impact that I’ve found hard to find in years since. That could partially the reason why this Hinder tune made me a little sad inside.
"The deed seems a little dirty, but I know there are people out there ..."
What really had an impact, though, was the line, “My girls in the next room, Sometimes I wish she was you.” I think it makes me sad because I’ve been there. I was supposed to be in love with that girl in the next room, yet someone else had my heart. At that point, I was committing two of the biggest crimes I can think of: I was being cowardly and living with a situation that wasn’t bringing me happiness and I was being dishonest with an angel who loved me. I’ve been through that a couple of times in my life. I guess that’s what happens when you fall out of love. What makes it additionally awful is that I was probably never in love in the first place.
It’s important for artists to address all issues in life. Hinder has gone and done it with this tune. The deed seems a little dirty, but I know there are people out there now in relationships who must be feeling the same way. I just hope that those who are reach out for what they really want. Life is just too short to settle, especially when it comes to love.

There's tons of different layers to love and that electric chemistry doesn't really make the world go round. As freakin' AWESOME as it is. I thought I was done with having my heart torn both east and west but it's not such a bad feeling. The key word in the lyric though is "sometimes".
