Looking To Both Sexes To Find One Love

Both Sexes To Find One Love!We all have preconceptions about certain things in the dating world and many of us, including some very open-minded people, still subscribe to some stereotypes that don't ring true. One such stereotype is the notion that people not specifically looking for a man or a woman are just looking for a party or a fling, or maybe several flings, as opposed to one love to make a commitment to. Yes, some of them are, but so are some straight and gay men and women like the ones you'll find on some bisexual dating sites.

Up until a little while ago yours truly was guilty of this preconception, possibly because the couple of friends I have who identify themselves as bisexual were always in and out of open relationships. Subconsciously, this seemed like the norm. When one of my bi friends told me that she was through with the flings and the party scene and wanted just one love, I instantly assumed, though didn't quite rationalize, that she must have already decided if this love was going to be a man or a woman.

Fortunately, she spared me the embarrassment I surely would have endured by asking, and before I could say anything, she asked me if I knew a good bisexual dating site where she'd be able to look for love. I breathed a sigh of relief for having dodged that bullet and made my recommendation.

Later that night, I asked myself some serious questions, like how on earth I could jump to such a conclusion. I would never assume that a gay or straight person had changed his/her sexuality because he/she wanted to find something more committed, so how could I jump to that conclusion about my bisexual friend? Maybe I was a little more close-minded than I thought. Rather than harp on it, I eventually decided to chalk it up to an error in judgment that I wouldn't make again.

Pure romance with an individual may change the type of relationship someone is having but won't alter what gender he/she is attracted to. Just because someone can have the best of both worlds doesn't mean he/she doesn't also have the ability to choose one love from either of them.
