Love Doesn't Happen
Living the life of love isn’t one of those things that just happen. You
need to strive for it. That’s what some people just don’t get. Everything is too easy in life. If you want cold water, you turn on the tap. If you get hungry, you open the fridge. When it’s too cold, you throw on more clothes and curl up under a blanket. People begin to feel that if love isn’t as easy, then it’s not right.
This is especially hard at the start. Everyone is seeking chemistry in that first email or phone conversation . . . and then pull the plug based on what could have been a message sent with sincere interest, but too late at night to make sense to more sober folks, or a conversation that takes place at an awkward moment in the day when one party just can’t seem to find their A, B or C game. Sure, there are things that are so hard that they probably should never be attempted. You can’t go to sex dating sites and expect to come away with anything accept a higher credit card bill. But dating online is work. It’s not impossible, but it isn’t easier simply because you can point and click in your underwear on a Saturday afternoon. Living the life of love isn’t one of those things that just happens. You have to be the one clicking and putting in the time to make it work.
