Love Text Messages
Romantic buggy rides down a country lane on a warm, August night are all but a thing of lore these days. We’ve come so far in the past hundred years that our whole idea of romance has changed completely. Romantic poems and heartfelt letters have been replaced by love text messages where words fail to resemble their actual appearance (2 for too, for example) and popular sayings get crunched down to save space. LOL! Does this mean that the face of romance, as we’ve known it for so long, is now dead?
I love romantic text messages. They are such a strange development for us to have embraced. Digital communication is cold, after all, yet it’s the sentiments that are being sent that matter most. Texting is such simplicity yet what it can convey between two people is staggering. Sending a message of any sort is a way of telling someone you’re thinking about them. Now you can do it any day at any time with no worry about how long it will take the postal service to get your message to where it needs to be. I had a weekend away a while back and received a special note from someone when the phone coverage in the area was so bad that you couldn’t get a reliable signal out. It was wonderful, however, instant love through text messages is a sad second place to telling someone in person that you’re thinking of them, but it is such a leap forward that we at Cupids Reviews figured it was about time to give some praise where praise is due.
I can hear the fans of romance of yesteryear crying already. But things change.
Society morphs. We learn to communicate in new ways about new things and ideas.
Clinging to the past is one sure way to get left there. I’m not saying
that there isn’t something magical in a beautifully handwritten letter.
As a matter of fact, I am on the lookout for a quill and ink, complete with
wax seal, so I can send letters of love in a “new” way. I am just
saying that love text messages are the new quill and parchment that was so loved
by previous generations. Romance as we knew it isn’t dead. Texting is
the modern language
of love. It’s just a simpler, more convenient and quicker way to tell
someone special that they mean the world to you. Reach out and touch that special
someone now!
