Match.com Profile Protection
There’s a lot to do these days about a New York state police officer accused of hacking into his ex-girlfriends Match.com profile. He had met the girl online but she had ended the relationship after deciding to return to an ex.
The accused apparently used the name of her German Sheppard to get into her account on the dating site and began to read her emails. It progressed to the point where he responded to some and even paid to have the account continued. The worst of it comes from him setting up dates with men who would arrive at her front door. Apparently her boyfriend was even home on one of the occasions. Can you imagine how that conversation must have gone? This is a good time to consider how you protect your online profile. Make your passwords secure. Use letters and numbers. Make them as long as you can but also make sure you can remember them. They’re your first and best line of defense when searching for love online.

If the woman had been a little more vigilant about her security, then she wouldn't have used the name of her dog as her password. I'm sure she'll be more careful when choosing her passwords in the future. Just another example why you should not use simple passwords.
