My Ab Is Looking Pretty Sweet
A few weeks ago, I started seriously working out. You'd be proud of me. I do 20 minutes of jumping jacks every day, 50 sit-ups, always take the stairs at work (six flights!) and an hour-long detour on my walk home from the office. I've already gone from round to ab (just the one, though)! Results are pretty sweet and give you a lot of motivation, but it doesn't make exercise-based lifestyle changes any easier. Looking back, I really regret not going on an online fitness dating site and meeting up with a workout buddy. Not only would it have made the process more enjoyable, but also it may have led to something more.
That doesn't mean I won't and don't use those sites, so much as that prior to this stage, I always felt uncomfortable. While logically I understand that anyone can join those sites and meet with people, in the back of my mind, I was always self-conscious since I didn't look like any of the other hot fit men on the site. To be fair, my body was quite flabby back then, whereas theirs were all looking pretty sweet.
Now I'm more confident, but I didn't even need to be. I could have focused on how I was looking for a workout buddy instead of a lover and easily met someone. Even then, you don't necessarily have to be a fit man in order to meet a woman on these kinds of sites. The same goes for women who are out of shape and looking for healthy guys.
The reason is that fitness dating is more the mindset. Yes, there are people looking just for the physiques, but many people are just looking for those interested in making the effort of being healthy. After a while, exercise becomes a fun activity, especially depending how you go about it. Meanwhile, being fit gives you more energy, so you're able to enjoy non-fitness related activities a lot more and for a lot longer.
You probably noticed that this week, I didn't talk about my own dating experiences. That's because I don't want anyone out there to miss out like I have a few times in the past. Whether you're trying to look into fitness dating or not, having the confidence to put yourself out there is essential. Once you do, I'm sure that you'll see your dating successes will start being pretty sweet.
