My Buddy's Explosive Military Woman

Love Is A Battlefield! After a three-year stint in "Iraqistan," my buddy wanted to stop making war and start making love. When I asked why the sudden 180 turnabout, he sat me down, clasped his hands on my shoulders and said "Brian, if you make one more stupid war pun, I'm going to smack you." Having not been through boot camp training since my days in fat camp, I figured it was a good idea to shut up and listen to what he had to say about his new military attache. When asked if he met her on tour, he replied that he instead found her on a military dating site. Apparently, she was a military woman with a wicked sense of humor.

Right when I asked what that meant, up suddenly became down and I was flat on my back staring up at a muscular brunette with a warm, yet terrifying smile. Apparently, that's what he meant. While my buddy was busy laughing his butt off, I was contemplating how the results of this new military love would affect my personal health in the future. I mean, I'm not opposed to falling head over heels in love for a military woman, but I usually prefer it to not be so literal. Especially if I only get to do the falling aspect, while someone else does the loving.

Though I had to admit, they really were made for each other. Even before heading into the service, my friend was a total jock. Meanwhile, this beautiful military girl was a major tomboy. I was a little apprehensive for him, though, because all I could think about was how being sent on different tours would affect their relationship.

He told me it actually strengthened his love for this fiery military woman, as it was important for him to know he had someone who understood the risks he was taking every day and night. Not only that, but he also knew that waiting for someone in battle was unbearable, so he said he liked knowing that she had her thoughts preoccupied by missions instead of worrying about him. On top of this, he said it meant he had someone he could talk to who could understand things civilians couldn't, which meant theirs was a very personal relationship that made them both quite happy. War, huh? What is it good for? Apparently there's one thing.
