My General Dating Apathy

General Dating ApathyYesterday I was out and about on the town, running errands and hitting a much needed appointment. I came out of a local house wares shop and was heading towards my car when I saw a tall brunette heading in the same general direction as I was. I looked up and recognized her from a great distance. She looked up and seemed to recognize me. We’d bumped into each other in a club on New Years and we’d partied together for a lot of the evening. Yesterday, however, we did what most singles seem to be doing these days. We bowed our heads and continued on our way…

We’re on the same dating site, so I know she’s still single. I, too, have no good excuse for not saying hello. Sometimes I feel that this general attitude of disinterest is running rampant on dating sites. Some people just seem so distant. True, they may not be into me, but sometimes I get the feeling that it’s more than that. I tend to find that people don’t really become real to me until we meet in person. Until that time, they’re just a bunch of 1’s and 0’s. Their words stream at me like every other persons garble. This isn’t the way I want to see online dating. It should be something that get’s us out of beds in the morning with a smile on our faces. After all, love has never been this accessible. Isn’t that enough reason to smile?

The only thing that I have in my favor for dismissing the encounter was that half of my face was still frozen from the dentist and I was drooling uncontrollably out the right side. Then again, who is to say she wasn’t suffering from a similar dental dilemma?

You make me smile sometimes ;)

It was really strange not to say hello. But I have also noticed that as time goes by and we become older and more experienced, we are lazy enough to log into a Dating Site but have no enthusiasm to say hello to people we meet online.

We're more inclined to meet our old friends or have planned parties with a known ending. well, it's life.

And this all continues untill real life strikes us! Well only in that moment you become smiling in the morning) If you meet your love online then your Online dating is inspiring and successful. If in a real life, then you think that Online Dating becomes a routine like our work and life.

Things do happen. Take this life and live it!

Thanks for taking my dreary entry and putting some positive spin control on it for me, Julia. Some days I just need to get stuff off my chest... Whooohooo! I feel better!

This is true but then again sometimes you have to be weary of if the person on the other end of your online chat is the real deal. But must admit chatting to and making new friends online is so much fun, but it does come with a warning you always get the odd sad case out there willing to turn your fun into a misery.
