Pizza And Pasta With A Hot Italian Date
I haven't got the slightest idea on the origins of the phrase tall, dark and handsome but I'm pretty sure whoever came up with that was thinking of good-looking Italian men. Italians, in general, are an attractive lot which is probably why many of my friends come up to me for help on finding a hot Italian date. It's not that much of a problem considering there are many good dating sites on the internet and in this day and age when you can pretty much find anything with the touch of a button and a click of the mouse, Italian dating is as easy as ordering take-out.
I remember my friend Lea whose idea of a hot Italian date is going to a pizzeria and gorging on spaghetti and pizza. She's a career-obsessed workaholic, who I set up with my Italian client a couple of years back. I could sense the connection between them from the start and true enough, they ended up as a couple soon after that. It was some kind of a new experience for Lea, who isn't used to going out with a romantic man who takes her out to nice restaurants and sends her love text messages everyday. I haven't seen her this happy for a long time.
Things were really going great between them and it was quite a surprise when Lea told me they decided to part ways after going steady for five months. It's not really a short and sad love story, it's just that they have different priorities at the moment. Lea was up for a promotion and she's putting in longer hours at work, while he's planning on going back to Italy and settling there for good. It's such a shame because they look really good together but at least they got to enjoy each other's company even for a short time. Since then, Lea always refers to him as her hot Italian date.
I haven't heard from either of them for quite some time and I'm curious as to how they're both doing and if they're still keeping in touch with each other. I don't know if they have plans of getting back together in the future, but being the hopeless romantic that I am, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
