Relationship Forums: Portals to People's Souls
Some days I just want to talk romance. Some days I get up and love is all that consumes me. Days when romance is on my mind, I head for relationship forums and try and talk it out. After all, there’s nothing better to soothe a beating or broken heart than a little commiserating with perfect strangers.
For me, relationship forums are always a compelling way to spend some time. For better or worse, they seem to bring out the real issues people want to talk about and their genuine feelings. I think it must be the anonymity in it all. After all, there are certain things you just don’t want to share with your friends. And it’s often better to get some more opinions besides the same old routine you get from those who know you best. That’s when it’s time to don the mask and head for a place where people know you least!
I’ve spent a lot if time on relationship forums, usually trying to dispense advice for profiles, as it’s somehow something I feel qualified to yap about. Between that and romance reviews, I tend to use up any and all free time I have. I like the immediacy of it. I write something and people respond. I give an opinion and get one in return. It’s like conversation, but without all the effort of having to ask questions. You don’t have to worry about dominating or being dominated in the discussion. Everyone is on a level playing field. Nobodies opinion counts for more or less than your own. It’s a virtual Utopia for discussion aficionados.
If you’re out there playing the dating
game and you want to touch base with the mass of other online singles, you
should visit a relationship
forum and see what they have to offer. It may just be the move you need
that gets you the piece of the puzzle, or peace of mind, that you’re searching
for. I know it works for me. ;)
