Romance & The Storm
It’s raining outside. There has been a storm here since the wee hours of the morning. I was startled to consciousness at least three times before by alarm clock woke me up, which would certainly explain why my eyes are half shut and my mind on autopilot. Personally, I love it when it rains. I like the darkness in the middle of the day. I think we may get a couple of days like this all year where I live. There’s so much atmosphere – so much character – to the world when all outside looks grim.
These are the days to be snuggled up in bed, watching moves with that someone special or even out for walks under the shelter of a big umbrella. I’m not sure many share my enthusiasm. Looking out my window, I see very few people strolling about and those that I do see are running from their homes to their cars, attempting to experience as little of this “wonder” as possible. But, maybe that’s only where the difference lies. Maybe I don’t see many people because they are in bed, cuddled up with the person they love, watching old TV shows or movies they picked up at the local video store. I’m not sure where the truth really lies, but for me, for today, I think I’ll choose to believe that with the rain comes romance, and it’s alive and well!
