Once upon a time, I was a fool. Not a fool in love, like in the classic romantic ballad, so much as a disorganized, moronic idiot. Now we've all had complete scatterbrain moments once or twice in our lifetimes (or in my case, once or twice a day), but I don't think I was ever as stupid as when I arranged a date with not one, but two different spanish angels. In classic sitcom fashion, I even scheduled them at the same time in the same restaurant. I've been way too embarrassed to even look at a Latin dating site ever since.

On My Way To Becoming A Fit Hottie
My parents left for Brazil to celebrate their silver wedding anniversary this morning and I just can't help but feel jealous. I really wanted to go with them and experience the beaches of Sao Paolo. I even told them I'll stay out of their way, so they can enjoy Brazil to themselves, but to no avail. Then again I know I won't be able to go because I have work and I also know that I'm still carrying a few extra pounds from pigging out on chips for a whole month. I have to hit the gym first and become a fit hottie before I can compete with a hot Latin guy.

Nostalgic For Beautiful Spanish Women
One of the best experiences I've ever had was the year I spent living in Barcelona. I miss the delicious paella and strolling down Park Guell. The things I miss the most are the great people I met while studying in Pompeu Fabra and the beautiful Spanish women who I spent nights with in my small apartment. Well, if I could go back in time I would relive all the moments I had there studying, waiting tables at La Fonda del Port Olimpic restaurant and going out for tapas with those hot Spanish girls. Oh, how I long for those days when I was into the Latin dating scene in that festive city..

Brazil's Beautiful Latin Women
My parents are going to have their silver wedding anniversary next month and they're planning to celebrate it by going to Brazil. I'm happy for my parents, but I'm miffed because I've always wanted to travel to Brazil. Well, I want to experience the sun in Sao Paolo and feel the sand through my feet. I want to see the famed Christ the Redeemer and let loose in Rio during Carnival. Most of all, I want to meet the beautiful Latin women this country has to offer.

Looking Forward To Sexy Latin Babes
It's never too early to start planning for a vacation and right now I'm toying with the idea of heading to Mexico for some much needed rest and recreation. What could be better than just lazing around on the beach and feasting your eyes on scantily clad sexy Latin babes laid out on the sand? I can check out the local Latin dating scene and spend some quality time with a beautiful Latin girl. Just thinking of it makes me want to pack my bags and head out the door, but this won't be happening for quite a while since my vacation is still a few months away.

The Beautiful Latin Girl I Met
The other day I was at my local supermarket, minding my own business, when I accidentally bumped into the most beautiful Latin girl I had seen in a long while. I've always had a thing for ladies from south of the border or at least those whose parents came from there. For reasons I don't fully understand, I have never pursued one before. This is surprising considering the ample amount of Latin dating sites available.

Beautiful Latin Ladies Probably Don't Actually Speak Latin
When you're searching for someone new who catches your eye, a lot of sites will let you filter their members according to a whole host of variables, but what you can search for will depend a lot on what kind of site you're on. The more general sites will let you search for people from specific backgrounds, whereas sites that are already geared toward, say, Latin dating, will assume you're looking for beautiful Latin ladies and let you focus on other, more specific criteria. Personally, I never really understood why people would want to limit their options like that, especially since when it comes to body language, reading the signs is usually possible no matter how different two people's backgrounds may be. That said, the desire people have to avoid those who don't understand their culture is more comprehensible when you're faced with some of the more ridiculously ignorant people out there.

Hemingway's Spanish Mistress
During the 30s, there were a lot of people that went to Spain to fight against the fascists. Ernest Hemingway spent some time in Spain, fighting and writing about the situation there and also about his experiences with his friends there and in other parts of Europe. I'm not sure if Hemingway had a Spanish mistress or not, but if he wasn't able to get one, he might have had better luck if he'd tried a Latin dating site.

The Dangers Of Being A Sexy Latin Woman
I never would have suspected, but apparently just being a sexy Latin woman can be hazardous to the health. I always figured being beautiful made life easier. It certainly makes you what everyone searching the dating personals dreams of, but apparently being the object of everyone's desire also makes you the target of jealous reprisals.

Searching For A Thick Latin Girl
I'm not sure if it was JLo that put thick Latin girls on the map, but she certainly made it more acceptable for girls to look the way they do and be proud of it. I mean, why wouldn't they? The Right Latin Dating Service
We're assaulted by a colossal amount of choices these days. When you're confronted by the sheer amount of variety in the online dating world alone, it can seem difficult to pare down the number of options. It's almost weird to make these complaints - when is too much freedom a bad thing? (yes, I'm aware of Lord of The Flies, soccer riot looting, and other examples of anarchy run amok - don't bother pointing that out). At least with the Latin dating service scene, you've already cut out a huge amount of dead weight from your dating menu. When you start hitting Latin dating sites, you've just narrowed the field down to a few million choices - so simple!

Brunch with a Mature Latin Woman
I think I mentioned in my last blog that I was supposed to be setup with a friend-of-a-friend. It seems that I am losing my mojo and everyone is treating me as if I'm less hot than I used to be. I knew I wouldn't meet the one that night, but was surprised to see what was considered a possibility. Sex and The Latin Guy
Certain singles that I know (and love) have these wild ideas of what constitutes a proper romantic life. A few years ago, this acquaintance of mine complained that men aren't like the dude from The English Patient, that the romantic sparks that they were hoping for were simply nonexistent in the real world. Certain friends of mine also beleive that people from other, non-Anglo backgrounds were also more romantic and dreamy. One girl in particular met some Latin guy in Cuba, stayed with him for a grand total of ten days, and now wants to invite him up to Vancouver so that they can be together (she could have saved some time and energy and simply hit a Latin dating site, but that's another topic). There seems to be this sense of "the grass is greener on the other side" when it comes to the dating scene - if you're from some exotic country, that means that you MUST be more romantic than the local schmucks.

I remember the first time that I hit East Harlem. This was the late nineties, after the whole crack epidemic had started to die down and Spanish Harlem was starting to become livable again.
