Striking Out With A Deaf Hottie
People always ask me why I look online for dates instead of hitting the bar scene. I tell them that while bars are a great place to hang out with friends or even bring a date, they lack something extremely helpful that I now find almost essential when trying to meet someone new: details in advance. If anyone doesn't see the importance of that, then I tell them the story of my friend who got shot down royally by a deaf hottie, who was waiting for her date that she had met on a deaf dating site.
He saw her across the bar. She was gorgeous, and he was already on his third pint. He had a pocket tape recorder and decided to get a bit creative. He went to the washroom and recorded a message. When he passed by her he hit play, put it on the empty stool next to her, headed back to his seat and waited.
"Attention, attention," the recorded voice said, filling the air. "Would the beautiful girl at the end of the bar with blonde hair and wearing a red shirt please order any drink she wishes. I'll pay for it."
She didn't even flinch. The message repeated and still nothing. By this time the rest of the bar was looking at her and trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. She was starting to get a bit confused. My friend was confused, too. While stunts like this didn't always get him a date or a fling, they at least elicited a smile or some type of reaction. He finally went up to her and asked if she had heard the announcement. It's then that he discovered he had tried to use an audio recording to pick up a deaf hottie.
Embarrassed, I - I mean my friend, bought her a drink anyway and before long the date she had been expecting showed up.
This is a perfect example of why it's always better to know a bit about the person before you meet. Had he met this deaf cutie online first, he would have known what to expect and maybe come up with a better, though equally imaginative, way to woo this deaf hottie.
