The Best Dates Ever
It’s hard to think back and recall the best date I’ve ever had, but I’m sure they would have to have been the ones I had in my childhood. Although they might not be considered dates from a more mature perspective, the feeling and fun I had when I was 13 and 14 years old seem almost more real than the ones I feel on dates today.
Love was such a powerful emotion for me back then. I remember walking hand and hand through a graveyard shrouded in mist and hours spend talking endlessly on the phone. I recall laying on a basement floor, the girl of my dreams sleeping soundly beside me, and school dances that seemed to crackle with unbridled energy. These were the best dates I ever had and I hope never to loose the memories.

I would have to agree.. the energy of young love is intoxicating and wild...
Once we are adults... we are too serious and have too many fears..
I still love to lay down on the livingroom floor with a partner and pull out a colouring book and crayons :) Thats the truth! HONEST! It is a fun way to get back in touch with the simple fun pleasures we loose as adults :) That's just my thing...
Where have you been the last few days? Hiding out from the toronto heat I bet.. ugh.. *blows on you*

Hmmm... Will have to get back to you on this one as I can't think of a fave date off-hand; however, I will say that I am in complete agreement with Shelley there. Activities, including dates, are always more fun when you have something to show for it, a story [other than the plot of a film] to tell later on, or an experience shared, because these are the things that help people to not only get to know each other better, but to bond as well.
K, this isn't a date story... but I have a *very* vivid picture in my head of myself in the hospital at the age of seventeen, and my father sitting next to me. Because I was not yet eighteen I was still considered a child, thus my room was in the practically empty children's unit; there may have been five of us total at the time so I was utterly and completely bored. When the nutritionist came to see me, she brought some crayons and a colouring book which I immediately set about using... and to my surprise, my father picked up a crayon, and from the other side of the table that separated us, began to colour upside-down.
These are the moments that good memories are made of - I will forever be touched by that gesture.
I guess if you want a date to work well, you have to do something different for the person you're with to set you apart from "the rest".
