The Age Barrier

Bookmark This Page

Age BarriersShould age be a barrier to online dating? This is something I’m constantly bumping up against. I never expected it would have any impact on my dating life, but I notice myself turning down more and more people due to their age. This was never a problem during my early adolescence. I want to meet anyone and everyone, in large because I had a need to try and bed as many people as I could.

That only led to a lot of wasted time and broken hearts. Since then, I’ve been mostly operating under the understanding that time is precious for us all and it’s better to steer away from getting that close to someone unless everything feels right and there is opportunity for a future. Right now, I’m thinking a three-year age gap is about all I’m willing to explore. Outside of that there seems to be too many differences in personalities, beliefs and life stages. There is a barrier for age and dating with me and to be truthful, I’m more than a little bit bothered by it.

That is an interesting question. My first thought would be no, to a certain degree. We have a ride range of users and age groups, and most it seems, are at least open to chatting with someone who is a lot older or younger. Do they take it to the next level ie: dating, etc. Not sure?!?!

I think it is less likely to be an age difference problem and more likely to be a relationship issue or simply a difference in libido.
