A Pretty Deaf Girl Explains Music
You never know when you're going to be completely blown away on a date. The first time it happened to me, I was a bit younger than I am now and, to my credit, a little more open-minded about dating. I guess it might even be better to say that I wasn't as set in my ways. For a short time, I dated a pretty deaf girl who was absolutely marvelous. I didn't meet her on a deaf dating site, in fact, I'm not even sure they existed back then. We went to the same school and when we met, we hit it off right away.

Chatting With A Shy Deaf Guy
Despite all my bad experiences with chat sites, I continue to converse online. The reason is simple. It's an incredible method of filtering out people who have nothing to say. It takes only a couple of minutes, sometimes even seconds, to realize a guy's only interested in sex and has no interest in getting to know you or engaging in conversation of substance. Sweet Deaf Guys
I knew a non-deaf person who dated a person with a hearing impediment. There's nothing terribly unusual about that of course - it would hardly be noteworthy, but it was still funny to observe the fact that this couple enjoyed better communication than most couples who enjoy full hearing faculties. There was a deep bond between my friend and her hearing impaired boyfriend that transcended the differing abilities - it's not like Friend X was surfing deaf dating sites to pick up sweet deaf guys. It was breathtaking watching the courtship between these two however - love doesn't necessarily need words to express itself.

Is deaf love real love?
I've lived in a variety of different cities over the years, Montreal Canada being one of them. When I first moved there (and when I didn't speak a word of French), I remarked to a Montrealer friend that I was really interested in dating a French girl, regardless of the language barrier. My friend made some sarcastic comment that that's how she met and married her (nonexistent) Slobovian husband. There's some truth to her sarcastic little comment - in the movies and books, people from other sides of the planet meet and fall in love without uttering a word that either of hem can understand. It caused me to wonder whether deaf love actually exists. I'm not talking about deaf dating - I'm talking about love that transcends language. Can two people who don't speak a word of each other' language actually communicate in a non-verbal way?
