The Good, The Bad And The Affluent Singles
Dating affluent singles certainly has its advantages, and wealthy dating sites are a good way to meet people from this demographic. However, what you have to remember is that while financial success can be a good indicator of strong character, this isn't always the case. Like any other demographic grouping, there is a lot of variance from individual to individual, and you'll meet affluent singles who are exactly what you're looking for and others who are so off that you may even start to doubt the primacy of this criterion when looking for dates.
One thing you'll want to think about is how the affluent singles in question came into their money. There is a big difference between someone who was born into luxury and someone who built their own company, contributed their innovations or at least used their resources to try and do something positive in the world. Money can be a great resource, but when you don't understand that it is the representation of someone's hard work and you're more interested in it as an empty status symbol then there can be some problems.
Status symbols in general can be very misleading. Take, for example, how people drive or even park their cars. Sometimes people think that a Mercedes comes with built-in right of way. They cut people off like everyone should follow their lead no matter how absurd it is, and then they'll park sideways in a lot, blocking off two handicapped parking spaces while they go buy cigars. Call me silly, but I think that if you're going to display a status symbol, you should actually live up to a standard that makes that status worthy of respect, not just expect that respect to be granted to you sight unseen.
Basically, what I'm saying is that even if you're only interested in a certain type of person, you still have to judge every individual differently. Attracting rich women or, for that matter, a rich guy can be a lot of work. There a lot of people competing for time and attention from successful people. If you're going to spend all that energy you'll want to make sure that you're trying to attract the right kind of person and not just fall for a certain type.
