The Wedding Date: A Chance To Show Off

Bookmark This Page

Getting Out The Tux For A Date! It's pretty much common knowledge that nothing can be as crucial for single people hoping to find someone than the wedding date. For someone like myself and the select few like me who are in the business of online matchmaking by proxy (just call us Cyber-Cyranos) or giving advice that gets people together in real life, this special occasion has another advantage that very few realize or can take advantage of: the ability to impress.

Playing match maker is something I do regularly, sometimes unknowingly. When I do know about it working, I feel a particular sense of pride that is not only one of personal or in some cases professional accomplishment, but one of myself doing something good for the world. Words can't describe, then, how good I feel when two people follow my advice and it works so well that they actually get married.

Imagine creating a beautiful work of art and then wanting to show it off to just the right person. That's a little like how I feel when bringing someone I'm interested in and may even care about to witness one of my works of art, the merging of two people I put together, as the wedding date.

Now, while first impressions scratch my surface, they could easily be quite important to someone else. There's always a risk that they could send the wrong message. That's why I'm usually reluctant to bring someone I just met on a first date at a wedding. It might make her feel that I'm moving just a little too fast for comfort.

No, the wedding date for me has to be someone I've already hit it off right with. It must be someone I feel a strong attraction to and connection with and would be quite happy with anyone who had set me up with her. She's someone who I really want to share the sense of pride I feel as I witness the happiness that in some way I helped to create unfold. She's someone who can understand and realize that maybe one day we could create the same happiness ourselves.
