Wealthy Single Men Looking For Commitment? That's Rich.
Unless you're willing to move halfway across the country, the chances of scoring wealthy single men looks pretty slim. Even if you are willing to relocate, rich dating sites can be deceiving. All of this was relayed to me by a friend who I suggested check out these sites, as she's looking for someone just as successful as she is. She's a lawyer in New York and as almost any single New Yorker will tell you, the selection of decent guys who make a substantial income is paltry at best.
This lady friend (let's just call her Amy), has been on the hunt for a respectable wealthy single men for months now. Her last date ended when, after he showed up half in the bag for their classy dinner date, he proceeded to drop everything from his fork to his wine glass. Sure, he was a wealthy bachelor with great prospects, but understandably, she's not willing to trade a sizable income for say, sobriety. Since then, Amy has really lost any hope and judging from some of her stories, I can see why.
Though nowhere as wealthy as she is, I don't think it’s too hard to figure out why the average wealthy male would be reluctant to sign up for the "long haul." Of course, I'm sure there are some men out there who pull in as much dough as she does who are actually decent guys, but I highly doubt it. Mostly because, if you're a good-looking rich guy with a great personality who doesn't spend all of his time working (just the kind of guy she's looking for), you probably have little need for a wealthy dating service. The only reason I suggested she do so is my complete lack of any other ideas.
After all, you would think that it would be easier to find love and commitment on one of these sites than say, at the local pub. How much money you make isn't exactly the most appropriate topic to bring up when you first meet someone and you don't want to wait for your tenth date to find out he's been collecting food stamps in order to make dinner for you. I'm of the opinion that money shouldn't really matter, but to some it's important. It's just too bad there's no easy way for her to find wealthy single men who are looking for commitment.
