Where Does True Love Wait?
How many of you believe in true love? Please raise your hands so I can count. It seems like true love is a topic that few want to table these days. It’s saved for backroom chatter amongst those labeled as silly romantics. True love just doesn’t seem like it has a place in modern society. Well, that’s except for places like here on Cupids Reviews. We’re only too happy to chat about it whenever there’s a chance. I just wish that the discussion permeated more of our daily lives than it does.
"True love waits for us all, I think."
I often wonder why there aren’t more romances made in Hollywood. Sure, there may be a handful a year that are churned out, but love is the most important aspect of life. It has such a positive impact on the way we live our lives yet all we hear about is the amount of divorces there are. What’s wrong with this world? I think this may go back to our schooling—or lack thereof.
If there is such a thing as true love, than it should be identifiable. If it can be identified, why can’t it be taught? What are we waiting for? Why can’t someone pull us aside in school and tell us that we’ll know when we’ve found true love when X, Y and Z occur? Wouldn’t this be a course that everyone would love to take?
I wish I could teach a course in true love, but I can’t. I’ve been on this planet for 30 years and I don’t think I’ve ever truly found a love that would fit forever. I figure with all that has been written about it, all that’s been portrayed in movies and TV, and all the people that have gone to war, killed and died in the name of it, it should be something more profound than what I’ve experienced to this point.
True love waits for us all, I think. I’m just not sure how more patient I can be.
