Where's My Fun, Mature Girlfriend?
You know, I really don't know why it's so hard to find a mature girlfriend with a good sense of humor. There are so many dating personal sites that it makes me wonder why I can't find a girlfriend that's got a head and her shoulders and a spring in her step. All the women that I've been meeting lately have been either very mature and responsible, or they've been a lot of fun to hang around with. Shouldn't there be some middle ground here somewhere?
It really would be nice to be able to spend time with someone who is able to balance a checkbook and who can also balance a spoon on her nose. You know what I mean, right? I just want someone who knows how to have fun, but is responsible enough to know when to stop and is not letting her life be dominated by party time.
On the other hand, some women I meet are always playing it cool. While it's great to know that someone has the ability to be cool, it seems like many women that I meet have trouble finding that balance between 'cool' and 'cold as ice'. I don't want a mature girlfriend that's too afraid to let loose from time to time.
I'm certainly not looking for some rich and brainless party girl that can't stand up at the end of the night. I'd like a girl that can go dancing until 3:00am and then still wake up at 8 o'clock to go for a bike ride. I'm not after a superwoman; I just want someone who recognizes the importance of balance. It's great to have fun, but it's also important to know that there is more to life and that we have to take care of ourselves.
A friend of mine feels the same way and he's always trying to give me advice on how to pick up a girl. Is idea is to keep balance by dating many different girls. It seems to me like he's missed the point entirely. I'm pretty sure that if I stick to the dating sites that I will eventually find a mature girlfriend.

I can actually relate to waht you're saying! oh and thats a compliment by the way! And you should be flattered, considering that I'm not a give out compliments easily kinda girl!
Anyway. To get back to the point, I think I would like a guy with pretty much the same characteristics and ideals that you seem to go for. Unfortunately, I havent come across him yet. In fact, I think I'm the only freak of my age(19) that has never fallen for anyone! I mean I had my share of crushes, we all did, but nothing more than that!
And I dont know how to say this without sounding like a complete idiot, but I think that sometimes I am something like what the person you have described. at least I like to think so!And I'm not desperate or anything, but I find you interesting, which is surprising for me, but then, you dont seem to be like most of the other pathetic losers who post their blogs on the net and talk of similar things!
