Wisdom Is The Secret To Senior Beauty
"The oldest trees often bear the sweetest fruit," says an old German proverb and I've always agreed to it. When I was four-years old, I always looked forward to meeting my grandma whenever we went home to attend a family reunion. She had the best stories and she loved telling her grandchildren all of her crazy adventures growing up on the farm. Aside from these stories, I always looked forward to seeing her kind face. Her face told a story by itself and her eyes looked young even though her face looked aged. Her skin told a story of a lifetime of love and care that went around the family in spite of the wrinkles. Such was the senior beauty of my grandma.
There are people who refuse to look old and fight Father Time by going under the knife and injecting chemicals into their faces. There are people who age gracefully, refusing to dye their hair when it turns gray. Though aged, they still look young and even look ageless. I've always wished I'll be one of them when I reach that point in my life, so it will be easier for me to meet a wise and beautiful senior woman when I give senior dating a try.
I remember watching Something's Gotta Give back in 2003. It is a story of a senior man (played by Jack Nicholson) with a penchant for dating young women who falls in love with an accomplished woman (played by Diane Keaton) who is closer to his age. A young doctor (played by Keanu Reeves) enters the picture and he falls in love with Diane's character, which complicates things. I don't blame him for falling in love with her because Ms. Keaton looked absolutely gorgeous even after all these years. There's something about her look that captures peoples attention and with her personality and knowledge, she's someone I'd love to have tea with.
I see a lot of senior women whenever I grab a cup of coffee. Some may be happily married seniors while some could be senior singles. Many look good and dignified, but there are some who look really beautiful and ageless. I am particularly drawn to these types of seniors because they somehow remind me of my grandma. The truth is, I'm looking for someone like her to tell me stories and give me some pearls of wisdom, but no one could really replace my grandma. I'm sure the secret to her senior beauty was the wisdom she's accumulated, her happy outlook in life and some good moisturizer.
